We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Villeurbanne where 11th rankedGravelines U21 (9-20) was rolled over by twelfth ranked ASVEL U21 (9-20) 99-78 on Friday. ASVEL U21 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Gravelines U21 's 46. They outrebounded Gravelines U21 48-28 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. ASVEL U21 looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Benjamin Ruol who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Noha Sylves who added 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Coach Mike Happio's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Romain Valakou (192-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Miguell Nguidjol (197-2007) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. ASVEL U21 moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Gravelines U21. Gravelines U21 lost third consecutive game.
