Regular Season Round 12: RASHI - TSU 83-73

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked TSU (8-3) in Tbilisi on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked RASHI (5-6) 83-73. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. RASHI made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by TSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international guard Nodar Gogodze (192-1994) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Center Lasha Mikeladze (166-2001) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Mikeladze is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international point guard Otar Pkhakadze (188-1993, college: Simpson, CA) replied with 16 points and 8 assists and the former international swingman Nikoloz Gaprindashvili (200-2002) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for TSU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. RASHI maintains seventh position with 5-6 record, which they share with Iverioni. TSU lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with three games lost. RASHI is looking forward to face higher ranked Delta (#4) in Gurjaani in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TSU's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Kavkasia.
