Regular Season Round 20: Iverioni - Delta 92-94

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Superleague took place in Gori. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of higher rankedIverioni (11-7) to eighth ranked Delta (9-10) 94-92 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Iverioni. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Iverioni outrebounded Delta 44-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Iverioni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Danya Kingsby (185-1998, college: GSU) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center Gegi Baqradze (206-1994) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Delta players scored in double figures. American forward Jay Pal (206-2000, college: SDSU) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-1993) added 26 points respectively for the hosts. Delta moved-up to seventh place. Iverioni at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost.
