Regular Season Round 7: Telavi - Margveti 86-84

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Superleague took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placedMargveti (4-3) to second ranked VSA (5-1) 86-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Margveti. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14 . But Margveti won second period 22-21 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by Margveti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Demaree King (183-1999, college: Jax State) fired 24 points and 8 assists for the winners. Anzori Nadiradze chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. VSA's coach Davit Nozadze used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. produced 23 points and American guard Christian Jones (190-2000, college: CBU) added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VSA have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with TSU and Kutaisi. Margveti at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Orbi.
