Regular Season Round 13: Brooklyn - VSA 71-77

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tbilisi:VSA (#3) and Brooklyn (#9). Despite it looked like an easy game for VSA, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Brooklyn challenged much higher ranked VSA giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 77-71 . The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-71. Davit Chuadze fired 21 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Giorgi Dokhnadze chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Demetre Alimbarashvili produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Bacho Bliadze added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. VSA (8-1) have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Wings and Academy. Brooklyn at the other side keeps the ninth place with five games lost.
