Very important is a road loss of second rankedKutaisi (6-2) against eighth ranked Kavkasia (5-3) on Tuesday night. Visiting Kutaisi was defeated by Kavkasia in Tbilisi 100-89 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kutaisi. The game was mostly controlled by Kavkasia. Kutaisi was better in third quarter 22-19 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kavkasia players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Kutaisi was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International point guard Luka Maziashvili (187-2000, college: UMass Lowell) nailed 20 points and 7 assists for the winning side and American forward Donnie Tillman (201-1999, college: NM State) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Maziashvili is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Tyree Boykin (183-1999, college: App State) came up with 27 points and the other American import power forward Javion Ogunyemi (206-1995, college: Siena) added 16 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for Kutaisi in the defeat. Five Kavkasia and four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Kavkasia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Defending champion Kutaisi still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with TSU.
