The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedTSU (6-2) on the court of eighth ranked Batumi on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by Batumi 77-74 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of TSU. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TSU won third quarter 22-18 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Batumi made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Batumi outrebounded TSU 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Miryne Thomas (203-1999, college: Kent St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international Davit Lomidze (196-1997) chipped in 14 points. Four Batumi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Quentin Hardrict (183-2000, college: Pitt St.) with 24 points and international center Giorgi Turdziladze (208-1997) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Batumi (5-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. TSU at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Kutaisi.
