Regular Season Round 27: Hyundai - Telavi 111-70

Date: March 28, 2026
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hyundai (16-5) crushed bottom-ranked Telavi (1-19) in Tbilisi 111-70 on Saturday. Hyundai dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Telavi's 26. Hyundai forced 25 Telavi turnovers and outrebounded them 54-41 including 23 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hyundai made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Sandro Shervashidze (209-2009) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Nika Bodaveli (178-2009) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Hyundai's coach Irakli Cherqezishvili felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Nikoloz Tuliani (160-2010) came up with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Giorgi Jokharidze (187-2008) added 2 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Telavi in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Hyundai. They maintain third place with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader VSA. Telavi lost their thirteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Hyundai will meet at home Ajaris Nakrebi (#4) in the next round. Telavi will play against Ajaris Nakrebi (#4) and hope to win that game.
