There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (5-6) edged 10th ranked Finke Baskets (5-6) in Paderborn 68-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 20-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Vincent Bailey (196-91, college: Lincoln Memorial) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Derek Wright (179-86, college: Austin Peay St.) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. SC Rasta Vechta's coach Stephen Arigbabu used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Thomas Bropleh (196, college: Boise St.) answered with 13 points and 8 assists and forward Frederik Henningsen (198-88) added 21 points in the effort for Finke Baskets. SC Rasta Vechta moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Finke Baskets and Chemnitz. SC Rasta Vechta will face Baunach (#13) at home in the next round.
