Regular Season Round 33: Braunschweig - TBB Trier 80-74
Date: April 26, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked TBB Trier (7-23) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Braunschweig (16-17) 80-74 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Braunschweig looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 12 points and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: Inception Sports) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) scored 17 points. Four Braunschweig and five TBB Trier players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Braunschweig moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Goettingen. Loser TBB Trier keeps the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Braunschweig will face Phoenix Hagen (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TBB Trier will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#12) and hope to win that game.
