Telekom Baskets used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Weissenfels 89-75 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. Mitteldeutscher BC was better in second period 31-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telekom Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 32 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. American point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) produced 18 points and his fellow American import guard Frantz Massenat (193-92, college: Drexel) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Telekom Baskets will face Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against BG Goettingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
