Regular Season Round 4: Finke Baskets - Trier 65-72

Date: October 11, 2015
There was a surprise result in Paderborn where ninth ranked Gladiators (2-2) defeated higher ranked Finke Baskets (2-2) 72-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 28-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import swingman Brandon Spearman (190-91, college: Hawaii) who added 21 points during the contest. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Canadian Nick Tufegdzich (203-92) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American point guard Chase Adams (177-88, college: Pittsburgh) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gladiators moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Finke Baskets. Gladiators will face ETB Wohnbau (#15) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
