Very expected game when 13th ranked BG Goettingen (1-3) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Brose Baskets (3-1) 87-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Brose Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Brose Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and guard Darius Miller (203-90, college: Kentucky) who added 12 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard David Godbold (196-85, college: Oklahoma) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Chris Jones (178-91, college: Louisville) scored 15 points. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BG Goettingen dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Brose Baskets will face EWE Baskets (#3) in Oldenburg in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BG Goettingen will play at home against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#9) and hope to win that game.
