Regular Season Round 7: Art.Dragons - Wolfenbuettel 56-62

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Artland Dragons (5-2) in Quakenbrueck on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (5-2) 62-56. It was a key game for the top position in North. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel forced 19 Artland Dragons turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Artland Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Robin Amaize (188-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Marius Poeschel (192-90) helped adding 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American power forward Austin Bragg (206-91, college: W.Washington) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Javarez Willis (180-89, college: Ohio) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Iserlohn and Art.Dragons. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel is looking forward to face Recklinghausen (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play against AstroStars (#7) in Bochum and are hoping to win this game.
