There was a minor upset when 4th placed Itzehoe (5-4) lost at home to seventh ranked AstroStars (5-4) 73-65 on Saturday. AstroStars made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for center Michael Haucke (210-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Felix Engel (191-91) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five AstroStars players scored in double figures. AstroStars' coach Kai Schulze used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Charles Bronson (208-83, college: Pikeville) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Curtis Allen (193-86, college: ORU) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Itzehoe. AstroStars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Itzehoe. AstroStars will face Recklinghausen (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itzehoe will play against Rostock (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
