There was no surprise in Bamberg where 7th ranked Bayern Muenchen (13-7) was defeated by third ranked Brose Baskets (17-4) 100-87 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 57-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Brose Baskets made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 68.2 percentage. Brose Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard Darius Miller (203-90, college: Kentucky) helped adding 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Brose Baskets' coach Andrea Trinchieri used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American-Guinea-Bissau guard K.C. Rivers (196-87, college: Clemson) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Loser Bayern Muenchen keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Brose Baskets will meet league's leader ALBA Berlin on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bayern Muenchen will play against Giessen 46ers (#10) and hope to secure a win.
