Regular Season Round 13: Leipzig - Weissenhorn 78-87

The game between third ranked USC Leipzig (8-5) and seventh ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (6-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. USC Leipzig was defeated by Weissenhorn Youngstars in a tough game in Leipzig 78-87. American point guard Christopher Anderson (170-92, college: San Diego) stepped up and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Weissenhorn Youngstars' coach Daniel Jansson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Brandon Shingles (190-87, college: Morehead St.) responded with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars and five USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. Weissenhorn Youngstars moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Fraport SKY II. USC Leipzig at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Weissenhorn Youngstars is looking forward to face league's leader Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Leipzig will play on the road against Titans in Dresden and is hoping to win this game.
