Regular Season Round 16: Art.Dragons - Stahnsdorf 61-66

Date: January 23, 2016
There was a surprise result when tenth ranked RSV Eintracht (5-11) won against higher ranked Artland Dragons (9-7) in Quakenbrueck 66-61 on Saturday. RSV Eintracht forced 24 Artland Dragons turnovers. It was a very good performance for American forward Jeff Harper (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Harper is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. Forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Joel Mondo (186-88, college: USC-Salkahatcie JC) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Artland Dragons' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. RSV Eintracht moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Rist Wedel and Schwelm. Loser Artland Dragons keep the fifth position with seven games lost. RSV Eintracht will face higher ranked Hertener Loewen (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Artland Dragons will play against Rostock and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
