Regular Season Round 27: Hanau - Nuernberg 70-64

We should mention about the upset which took place in Hanau, where 8th ranked Nuernberg (13-14) lost to eleventh ranked White Wings (12-15) in a road game 64-70 on Friday. White Wings made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Nuernberg only scored five points from the stripe. White Wings forced 21 Nuernberg turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four White Wings players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mauricio Marin (193-94) scored 16 points. Nuernberg's coach Ralph Junge rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. White Wings moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Chemnitz. Nuernberg lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Baunach. White Wings will meet higher ranked Gladiators (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nuernberg will play against Bayer Giants and hope to secure a win.
