Regular Season Round 25: Telekom Bsk - Phoenix Hagen 111-86

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (10-15) crushed 11th ranked Phoenix Hagen (11-14) in Bonn 111-86 on Sunday. Telekom Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 44 and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Phoenix Hagen's players. It was a very good performance for American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman J.J. Mann (198-91, college: Belmont) answered with 30 points and Canadian power forward Owen Klassen (208-91) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Phoenix Hagen. Five Telekom Baskets and four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Phoenix Hagen's coach Ingo Freyer gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Telekom Baskets moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Bayreuth. Phoenix Hagen lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Telekom Baskets will face higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#6) in Frankfurt in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
