BBL top team - Brose Baskets (25-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Telekom Baskets (10-18) in Bonn 85-65. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Telekom Baskets managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Telekom Baskets to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of international Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. International Lucca Staiger (195-88, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 19 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Telekom Baskets. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive 23-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-2 record. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Bayreuth. Brose Baskets are looking forward to face ratiopharm Ulm (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Telekom Baskets will play against ALBA Berlin (#6) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
