Saarlouis defeated Herner and claimed 1-0 lead in the series. Herner TC was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) fired 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Stina Barnert (173-89) chipped in 18 points and 4 steals. The former international power forward Agnieszka Fikiel (194-87) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side.
