Regular Season Round 33: Telekom Bsk - Ludwigsburg 90-85

We should mention about the upset which took place in Bonn, where higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (22-10) lost to thirteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (12-21) in a road game 85-90 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won second period 28-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telekom Baskets made 34-of-41 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game, while EnBW Ludwigsburg only scored fourteen points from the stripe. American Aaron White (206-92, college: Iowa) stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Finnish Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jon Brockman (201-87, college: Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Telekom Baskets moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Bayreuth. Loser EnBW Ludwigsburg keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Telekom Baskets will meet higher ranked Braunschweig (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
