No shocking result in a game when second ranked Speyer (6-2) beat at home 7th ranked TV Langen (4-4) 89-78 on Saturday. Speyer forced 23 TV Langen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. TV Langen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Aaron Ellis (205-87, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) contributed with 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Maxim Schneider (184-92) replied with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Preston Ross (198, college: Winston Salem) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TV Langen. TV Langen's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Speyer maintains second position in South-West with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Schwenningen, which they share with Limburg. Loser TV Langen keeps the seventh place with four games lost. Speyer will face Lich II (#4) on the road in the next round. TV Langen will play against the league's leader BV Villingen-Schwenningen and hope to win that game.
