There was an upset when higher ranked Duesseldorf (7-8) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Ibbenbueren (5-10) 99-87 on Saturday. Ibbenbueren looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for British guard Rishi Kakad (188-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 4 assists. American guard Chris Hortman (190-88, college: Wisc.-Stout) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Ibbenbueren's coach Christian Beuing used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alexander Goolsby (191-87) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Ibbenbueren moved-up to tenth place in West, which they share with Hertener Loewen and Frintrop. Duesseldorf lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Ibbenbueren will face higher ranked Muenster (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
