Regular Season Round 15: Coburg - Rosenheim 100-88

Regionalliga top team - Coburg (12-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat ninth ranked Rosenheim (5-9) 100-88. Coburg made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Coburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Steffen Walde (190-92) who scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88) chipped in 29 points and 6 rebounds. Coburg's coach Simon Bertram used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) who recorded 25 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Gaizauskas (201-91, college: Ohio Valley) added 20 points respectively. Coburg have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Newly promoted Coburg maintains first place in South-East with 12-1 record. Loser Rosenheim keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ansbach. Coburg will meet league's second-placed Bad Aibling in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rosenheim will play against TSV Troester (#5) and hope to secure a win.
