No shocking result in a game when second ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (13-3) won against at home 5th ranked Salzkotten (9-7) 83-67 on Saturday. SG Schwelmer Baskets forced 24 Salzkotten turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Salzkotten was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian swingman Andrius Mikutis (194-88, college: John Brown) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Harry Boyce (193-85, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. SG Schwelmer Baskets' coach Falk Moeller used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Bryce Leavitt (193-94, college: Seattle Pacific) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. SG Schwelmer Baskets have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of West leader, which they share with Hagen BG. Loser Salzkotten dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will face Herford (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
