Regular Season Round 16: BG 89 Avides - Saarlouis 64-79

Date: February 4, 2017
The game with biggest result difference took place in Rotenburg. Local Rotenburg/Scheessel (3-13) lost to third ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (11-5) 79-64. The game was mostly controlled by TV Saarlouis Royals. Rotenburg/Scheessel was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and American forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) supported her with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four TV Saarlouis Royals players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) did not help to save the game for Rotenburg/Scheessel. Her fellow American import forward Ashley Southern (185-93, college: Lipscomb) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. TV Saarlouis Royals maintains third position with 11-5 record having just three points less than leader Keltern. Rotenburg/Scheessel lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. TV Saarlouis Royals' next round opponent will be Herner TC (#4) at home. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#2) and hope to win that game.
