Regular Season Round 19: Bernau - Recklinghausen 83-64

No shocking result in a game when first ranked SSV Lok Bernau (14-5) smashed at home 12th ranked Recklinghausen (3-16) 83-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Recklinghausen 42-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. SSV Lok Bernau looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Recklinghausen's players. Tim Schneider (208-97) fired 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 7 points and 10 assists. SSV Lok Bernau's coach Rene Schilling used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chris Iles (180-89, college: Xavier, LA) added 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. SSV Lok Bernau have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted SSV Lok Bernau maintains first place in North with 14-5 record, which they share with Art.Dragons. Recklinghausen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. SSV Lok Bernau will face league's second-placed Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Recklinghausen will play at home against SC Rist Wedel (#8) and hope to win that game.
