Regular Season Round 29: Crailsheim - Hamburg 82-81

Eleventh-ranked Hamburg (13-16) was very close to win a game against second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (24-5) on Saturday. Crailsheim Merlins managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hamburg. Crailsheim Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) saved the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Tuomas Iisalo used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rod Camphor (191-92, college: SW Oklahoma St.) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hamburg. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 24-5 record having just two points less than leader MBC. Hamburg at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Hanau. Crailsheim Merlins are looking forward to face White Wings (#10) in Hanau in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hamburg will play at home against Ehingen/Urspringschule and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
