There was an upset when higher ranked Duesseldorf (13-13) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Herford (12-13) 83-77 on Saturday. It was a great evening for British guard Jordan Whelan (193-94, college: MidAmerica Naz.) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 5 rebounds. Spanish center Daniel Arcau (206-92, college: Great Falls) helped adding 8 points and 11 rebounds. Herford's coach Markus Roewenstrunk used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was power forward Sebastian Kehr (201-91) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Paulius Kleiza (194-88) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Herford moved-up to ninth place in West. Loser Duesseldorf keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost.
