Regular Season Round 7: Ibbenbueren - Herford 97-82

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Ibbenbueren (2-6) beat at home higher ranked Herford (5-3) 97-82 on Saturday. Ibbenbueren forced 19 Herford turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Herford's players. Quite impressive performance for forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 assists. Spanish forward Albert Del-Hoyo (192-92) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Carlbe Ervin-II (190-95, college: Kansas St.) answered with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian-British forward Kris Douse (198-86, college: Point Park) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Herford. Four Herford players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibbenbueren maintains tenth place in West with 2-6 record. Loser Herford keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Ibbenbueren will face higher ranked Salzkotten (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Herford will play against the league's second-placed Muenster having rather not much hope for a victory.
