Regular Season Round 7: Koblenz - Fellbach 89-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Koblenz and 7th ranked Fellbach had identical 3-3 record. This time Koblenz used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Fellbach 89-72 on Tuesday night. Koblenz dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fellbach's 24. Quite impressive performance for American forward Marlin Mason (201-93, college: Cleveland St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Paulius Semaska (185-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists for the winners. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. Koblenz's coach Josip Bosnjak allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Polish point guard David Michalczyk (180-89) answered with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fellbach. Koblenz (4-3) moved-up to sixth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern. Loser Fellbach dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Koblenz will face higher ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fellbach will play against Tuebingen II (#5) and hope to win that game.
