Regular Season Round 9: TSV Troester - Herzogenaurach 93-73

Not a big story in a game in Breitenguessbach where 12th ranked Herzogenaurach (1-7) was outplayed by fifth ranked TSV Troester (6-2) 93-73 on Saturday. TSV Troester outrebounded Herzogenaurach 29-18 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Herzogenaurach was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Joerg Dippold (195-92) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Erik Land (205-90) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Patrick Horstmann (201-87, college: Keiser) who recorded 17 points and Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) added 12 points respectively. Four TSV Troester and five Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Herzogenaurach's coach Benni Aumeier rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. TSV Troester moved-up to third place in South-East, which they share with Treuchtlingen and Oberhaching. Herzogenaurach lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. TSV Troester will face Topstar (#8) in Diedorf in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Herzogenaurach will play at home against Muenchen OSB (#7) and hope to win that game.
