Regular Season Round 9: Recklinghausen - Hagen-Haspe 82-77
Date: November 11, 2017
There was no surprise when 13th ranked Hagen-Haspe (1-9) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Recklinghausen (7-3) 82-77 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Recklinghausen forced 19 Hagen-Haspe turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hagen-Haspe was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized Kosovan guard Fahri Breca (190-85, agency: Court Side) who scored 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. American point guard Dalante Dunklin (185-94, college: San Diego Chr.) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jeremy Lewis (180-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists and forward Oscar Luchterhandt (195-91) added 17 points respectively. Hagen-Haspe's coach Terry Bryant tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Recklinghausen. They moved-up to fourth place in West, which they share with Hertener Loewen. Hagen-Haspe lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Recklinghausen will face Kamp-Lintfort (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hagen-Haspe will play against Ibbenbueren and hope to win that game.
