Regular Season Round 12: Art.Dragons - Oldenburg 71-58

There was no surprise in Quakenbrueck where 8th ranked Oldenburg (5-7) was defeated by third ranked Artland Dragons (8-4) 71-58 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Croatian power forward Marko Bacak (211-95) who recorded 15 points and Kevin Wohlrath (197-95) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Oldenburg's coach Artur Gacaev rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Bernau. Loser Oldenburg keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Artland Dragons will face SC Rist Wedel (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Oldenburg will play against ETB Wohnbau in Essen and hope to win that game.
