Regular Season Round 13: Wolfenbuettel - Stahnsdorf 93-87
Date: December 9, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked RSV Eintracht (2-11) lost on the road to fifth ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (8-5) 93-87 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. RSV Eintracht was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Lars Lagerpusch (207-98) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Tom Alte (207-95) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Mike Holton-Jr (185-90, college: St.Michael's) answered with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import Josh Smith (206-94, college: Clemson) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for RSV Eintracht. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. RSV Eintracht's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Bernau. RSV Eintracht lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will face Itzehoe (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. RSV Eintracht will play against the league's second-placed Artland Dragons and hope to win that game.
