Regular Season Round 15: Hagen BG - Ibbenbueren 92-95

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Regionalliga took place in Hagen. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Hagen BG (10-6) to seventh ranked Ibbenbueren (8-7) 95-92 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hagen BG. Ibbenbueren made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Denzel Johnson (190, college: Santa Clara) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Spanish forward Albert Del-Hoyo (192-92) helped adding 23 points and 6 rebounds. Ibbenbueren's coach Christian Beuing used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian guard Milen Zahariev (190-92) with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ibbenbueren have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain seventh place in West with 8-7 record. Hagen BG at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Ibbenbueren are looking forward to face league's second-placed Muenster on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hagen BG will play against Bonn II and is hoping to win this game.
