No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (10-6) beat on the road 9th ranked Oldenburg (6-10) 76-68 on Sunday. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel had a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Constantin Ebert (184-96) contributed with 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Ward is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Herzoege Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. The former international Philip Zwiener (201-85) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and naturalized Croatian power forward Marko Bacak (211-95) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Oldenburg. Oldenburg's coach Artur Gacaev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Bochum and Art.Dragons. Oldenburg lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will face AstroStars (#5) in Bochum in the next round. Oldenburg will play at home against RSV Eintracht (#12) and hope to win that game.
