Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hertener Loewen (13-5) against sixth ranked Ibbenbueren (11-7) on Saturday night. Host Hertener Loewen was defeated by Ibbenbueren in a tough game in Herten 82-91. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hertener Loewen. Spanish forward Albert Del-Hoyo (192-92) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Denzel Johnson (190, college: Santa Clara) supported him with 32 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) did not help to save the game for Hertener Loewen. Forward Felix Neumann (201-90) added 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibbenbueren have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in West. Hertener Loewen at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Ibbenbueren will play against league's leader Grevenbroich at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hertener Loewen will play against the league's second-placed Muenster and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
