Regular Season Round 19: Rendsburg - Westerstede 91-70

Very expected game when 8th ranked Westerstede (7-9) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Rendsburg (10-6) 91-70 on Saturday. Rendsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Westerstede's 22. They outrebounded Westerstede 51-31 including a 39-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. British power forward Deji Adekunle (209-92, college: Keiser) helped adding 8 points and 13 rebounds. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) responded with 30 points and 6 rebounds and Marcello Schroeder (195-87) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rendsburg. They maintain fourth place in North with 10-6 record. Loser Westerstede keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Rendsburg will face Bergedorf (#9) in Hamburg in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
