Regular Season Round 16: Rhein MB - Jahn Muenchen 61-64

Sixth-ranked Rhein Main Baskets (6-8) gave a tough game to third ranked Jahn Muenchen (11-4) in Langen on Sunday. The visitors from Muenchen managed to secure only three-point victory 64-61. However their fans expected easier game. Strangely Rhein Main Baskets outrebounded Jahn Muenchen 45-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nicole Schmidt (168-89) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and the former international Anne Delafosse (184-84) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Pia Dietrich (168-94) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Rhein Main Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jahn Muenchen have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Bad Homburg. Rhein Main Baskets at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Wuerzburg. Jahn Muenchen is looking forward to face Weiterstadt (#4) at home in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against the league's leader Eisvogel Freiburg and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
