There was no surprise when 6th ranked TV Langen (14-13) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (17-10) 99-89 on Saturday. Saarlouis/Dillingen made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Saarlouis/Dillingen outrebounded TV Langen 42-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. Swedish forward Alan Bedirhanoglu (190-96) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) chipped in 25 points and 7 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Four Saarlouis/Dillingen players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) produced 35 points (!!!) and forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) added 19 points respectively for lost side. TV Langen's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saarlouis/Dillingen maintains fourth position in South-West with 17-10 record. TV Langen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face Lich II (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TV Langen will play against Mainz (#12) and hope to win that game.
