A1 top team -Olympiacos (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Amyntas (6-9) in Athens 88-40 . Olympiacos dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Amyntas ' 30 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Amyntas 47-27 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Amyntas ' players. The best player for the winners was American-North Macedonian forward Merritt Hempe (190-1994, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian-Cypriot forward Ivana Raca (189-1999, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Honesty Scott-Grayson (175, college: Auburn) who recorded 13 points and 5 assists and her fellow American import forward Oshlynn Brown (185, college: Rutgers) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-1 record. Newly promoted Amyntas keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with PAOK.
