The most exciting game of round 16 in the A1 took place in Athens. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengersOlympiacos (11-3) to second ranked Panathinaikos (13-1) 88-85 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olympiacos. They outrebounded Olympiacos 38-27 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Panathinaikos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Olympiacos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Artemis Spanou (186-1993, college: RMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Sedona Prince (201-2000, college: TCU) who added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Nausia Woolfolk (175-1998, college: FSU) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and her fellow American import center Ciera Johnson (190-1997, college: Texas A&M, agency: JCK Sports Group) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Olympiacos' coach Froso Drakaki tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Panathinaikos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-1 record behind leader Athinaikos. Defending champion Olympiacos keeps the third place with three games lost.
