The most exciting game of round 20 in the GBL took place in Thessaloniki. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-rankedPanathinaikos (15-4) to seventh ranked Iraklis (8-10) 76-74 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. American swingman Justin Edler-Davis (193-1998, college: CSUB) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward DJ Funderburk (208-1997, college: NC State) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Kendrick Nunn (194-1995, college: Oakland) replied with 21 points and American-North Macedonian point guard TJ Shorts (175-1997, college: UC Davis) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Panathinaikos. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Iraklis maintains seventh position with 8-10 record. Panathinaikos at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost.
