GBL top team -Olympiacos (20-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat tenth ranked Panionios (5-14) in Athens 79-71 . Olympiacos made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Olympiacos outrebounded Panionios 39-23 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Panionios was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Bulgarian Aleksandar Vezenkov (204-1995) nailed 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and American center Tyrique Jones (206-1997, college: Xavier, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds. American-Georgian guard Joe Thomasson (193-1993, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 21 points and the former international center Georgios Tsalmpouris (216-1996, college: Iowa St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points respectively for Panionios in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-0 record. Panionios at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Karditsas.
