There was an upset in Athens where higher rankedIraklis (8-14) was crushed by twelfth ranked Panionios (6-16) 103-77 on Saturday. Panionios dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Iraklis ' 36. Panionios forced 22 Iraklis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 16 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. The other American import center Nate Watson (208-1998, college: Providence, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Panionios players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nikos Tsiakmas (193-1999, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 13 points and 6 assists and international point guard Dimitris Moraitis (192-1999) added 15 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panionios moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Karditsas. Iraklis lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Mykonos.
