Very predictable result when second rankedStjarnan (6-1) won against at home 8th ranked Hottur (3-4) 87-80 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-80. Stjarnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international Orri Gunnarsson (197-2003) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Puerto Rican guard Jase Febres (196-1999, college: Texas) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American-Hungarian point guard Obie Trotter (192-1984, college: AAMU) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Nemanja Knezevic (205-1987) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Hottur in the defeat. Four Hottur players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stjarnan keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Tindastoll. Loser Hottur keeps the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with KR and Valur.
