An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stjarnan. Second rankedKR faced 4th placed Stjarnan 2 . Guests from Reykjavik (7-1) smashed host Stjarnan 2 (3-4) 88-61 . The game was mostly controlled by KR. Stjarnan 2 was better in fourth quarter 19-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KR forced 33 Stjarnan 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 128-96 including a 82-60 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Stjarnan 2 was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Rebekka Steingrimsdottir (173-2008) who led her team to a victory with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Anna Magnusdottir (178-2006) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five KR players scored in double figures. Guard Olof Bergvinsdottir (175-2007) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Sigrun Brjansdottir (174-2009) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Stjarnan 2. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for KR . They maintain second place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Armann. Stjarnan 2 at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost.
